Instructure is a US-based education technology company and the provider of Canvas, the Learning Management System (LMS) used across MTU. On 02/05/2026, Instructure confirmed to MTU that it had experienced a cybersecurity incident perpetrated by a criminal threat actor.
Instructure has since informed its customers worldwide that, while its investigation is continuing, and it believes the incident has been contained, some data may have been breached as part of the incident.
